H Fair Trade Hellas συνδιοργανώνει με τη theSwitch place identity το εργαστήριο Fair identity στα πλαίσια του ECOWEEK 2011 στην Αθήνα σε συνεργασία με μία ομάδα αρχιτεκτόνων η οποία αποτελείται από τους: Βασίλη Ντόβρο (beforelight), Κατερίνα Γρηγοροπούλου, Μαρία Κούτσαρη (USE architecture) , Ιωάννη Οικονόμου (oiio architects).

Τα εργαστήρια της ECOWEEK δίνουν την δυνατότητα σε φοιτητές και νέους επαγγελματίες να δουλέψουν για μία εβδομάδα δίπλα σε ανερχόμενους ή καταξιωμένους αρχιτέκτονες, μηχανικούς, σχεδιαστές, καλλιτέχνες πάνω σε προτάσεις «πράσινης» αρχιτεκτονικής και αειφόρου σχεδιασμού. Η ECOWEEK 2011 ΑΘΗΝΑ βρίσκεται σε συνεργασία και με τον Δήμο Αθηναίων για την επιλογή περιοχών μελέτης των εργαστηρίων που τα αποτελέσματα τους στοχεύουν να αποτελέσουν την αρχή υλοποιήσιμων ιδεών.

Μέσα από την ευρεία αυτή συνεργασία και στα πλαίσια του “Fair identity”, επιχειρείται να αναπτυχθούν ιδέες, κατευθυντήριες γραμμές και σχεδιαστικές εφαρμογές οι οποίες να είναι σε θέση να αναδείξουν τις αξίες του Δίκαιου & Αλληλέγγυου Εμπορίου ως παράμετρο της αειφόρου τοπικής ανάπτυξης. Ο σχεδιασμός των χωρικών προτάσεων και αστικών “γεγονότων” που θα προκύψουν ως απόρροια της στρατηγικής για την διαμόρφωση της ταυτότητας του τόπου, έχουν αφετηρία αλλά και αποτέλεσμα το κτισμένο-άκτιστο περιβάλλον και τη δράση των κατοίκων της πόλης. Ως μελέτη περίπτωσης επιλέγεται η περιοχή της Ακαδημίας Πλάτωνος.

Το εργαστήριο εμπλουτίζεται με μία σειρά από ενημερωτικές, εκπαιδευτικές και βιωματικές εισηγήσεις από τις Μαρίνα Σάρλι και η Ειρήνη Καρέτα, πρόεδρος και project manager αντίστοιχα της Fair Trade Hellas , και Μαίρη Καρατζά strategic designer της theSwitch.

The spider-tent is designed as a rapidly deployable shading structure that could be expanded and re-configured by adding “modules“, being each module is collapsible and entirely portable. Thus, the resulting canopy can be adapted to irregularities in the terrain and be tilted to optimize its shadow patch according to the latitude in which is being deployed.

The project’s main objective was to provide New Orleans with a revised housing typology, which would respond at the same time to the weather conditions of the area and the living habits of the locals. The geometry of the building was evolved based on environmental criteria and taking into consideration the “Catrina” hurricane threat. Passive heating and cooling systems have been studied in detail, while mechanical systems or renewable are considered as secondary supportive systems and thus the design is providing the necessary space for them.

Καλούπωμα, “σιδέρωμα”, σκυροδέτηση, ξεκαλούπωμα, τακτοποίηση εργοταξίου και πάλι από την αρχή. Και ο κύκλος είναι συνεχής! Αύριο παρασκευή, φτάνουμε στην σκυροδέτηση της πλάκας ισογείου και ο σκελετός πλησιάζει την τελική του μορφή. Συνεργεία, συνεργάτες, φίλοι και περαστικοί θα βάλλουν τα δυνατά τους!

The W13 focuses on the street market and on the lifecycle of the materials that are used in it. The street market is a regular gathering place for people in order to buy goods. It is installed on local streets, creating a complex and more fluid circulation system. The sidewalks are occupied by the storage trucks, the road becomes the main pedestrian circulation axis with both its sides accommodating the selling points. As time goes by, products are reduced resulting in a continuous increasing volume of garbage: biodegradable and non eco-friendly.

Through the material reuse, our project generates an alternative selling point and a product. The installation that is composed by reused plastic crates and synthetic net reveals the amount of daily waste. At the same time, the product consists of soil and organic compost with selected seeds, all inside a reused plastic crate, combining in that way the recycle through compost process and the reuse of non eco-friendly materials. By selling the products, the empty parts of the structure are transformed into a sitting place and the selling point becomes a socializing point.

This project continues after the closure of the market since the cultivation of plants in urban houses is a reminder that what seems useless, it is not.
